As a supplement to the main conference, a Sponsorship is Fantastic Master Class will be held at the RACV Club on Wednesday 3 June 2009.
It is a full day programme specifically focusing on the needs of sponsoring corporates. The globally well respected sponsorship framework, SponsorEight® is explained and work-shopped in detail. The framework’s theory is supported by full-length, in-depth presentations each representing a case study of an important concept within the model.
There will be several international key Note speakers during the day:-
- Daragh Persse – Vodafone’s Global Head of Sponsorship and Brand Engagement [US]
Shawn Hunter - one of the best sponsorship marketers in the US and the man who helped bring Beckham to Hollywood. [US]
- Craig Griffiths - Sponsorship Manager, Contact Energy [NZ]
- Simon Collinson - Commercial Director, Wigan Rugby League [UK]
- Jason Cornell - Managing Director, Cornell Sponsorship Group; former Head of Sponsorship, Hong Kong Jockey Club [Hong Kong]
The morning presentations focus on the main Corporate Drivers of successful sponsorship. The first presentation by Master Class host, Nick Brown Haysom sets the foundation for the morning. His presentation identifies that there are 4 Corporate Drivers behind most successful sponsorships and highlights that it is seldom that all four are equally important. The presentation shows that the structure of a sponsorship and related leveraging activity is predicated by what you are attempting to achieve out of it. It stresses the point that two sponsorship campaigns driven by different Corporate Drivers should not look the same.
This foundation presentation is then followed by 3 case-study presentations; each looking at sponsorships shaped by different corporate drivers. Each presentation represents “best practice" of how sponsorships driven by specific Corporate Drivers might be structured and operated.
The first afternoon presentation by Sponsorship Master Class host, Nick Brown Haysom again sets the foundation. His presentation will focus on the 8 stages of fan/customer connection and shows the necessary steps to turn supporters of the sponsored team/events/programme into vocal advocates for the sponsoring brand. As in the morning, Nick's foundation presentation is followed by several case-study presentations.
