Many of the business challenges facing sport franchises operating in Australia and New Zealand are the same faced by sport franchises globally; irrespective of country, code, whether the team plays in the NFL or a local competition or the level success (both on and off the field).. Tickets still need to be sold, the brand still needs to be positioned appropriately and the team still has to be conscious of its relationship with its community. Similarly, sponsors still need to secured and, just as importantly, also need to feel that they achieve value for their investment. One of the constants underpinning efforts in all of the above areas is that committed fans are the life blood of every team.
Some of the world’s best sport marketers will be in Sydney on May 27 & May 28 for the Sport is Fantastic international sport marketing conference. Anybody involved in the business of sport will benefit from attending. There are 10 Key Note presentations from globally recognized organizations coupled with 8 different breakout streams covering many different industry segments.
Some of the presentations will inspire while others will educate. The wide range of differing backgrounds of attendees will expose delegates to approaches and perspectives far removed from their current thinking. However, the presence of 8 different breakout “silos” means that delegates can spend time networking with those they have most in common. Contacts made at the conference are likely to move beyond infamous networking opportunities and result in actual collaboration and exchanges long after the physical conference has ended.
Attendance at Sport is Fantastic will allow delegates to benchmark both themselves and their organizations. It will expose them to a myriad of new ideas and allow them to identify those that are most likely to work in their own situation.
